Academician Fan Chunhai is the dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University


According to the website of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Academician Fan Chunhai has been appointed as the dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Recently, the announcement meeting of the appointment and dismissal of the dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University was held. At the meeting, Yang Yi, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and director of the Organization Department of Shanghai Jiaotong University, read out the appointment and dismissal notice of the school: Fan Chunhai was appointed as the dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Tu Yongqiang no longer served as the dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

Fan Chunhai

According to public information, Fan Chunhai is a chair professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University Wang Kuancheng. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. from Nanjing University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara. From 2004 to 2018, he was a researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2019, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Since 2018, he has been a professor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and is currently the executive dean of the Institute of Translational Medicine and the chief scientist of the National Center for Translational Medicine Sciences. He is also the associate editor of ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces of the American Chemical Society, the editorial board of more than ten internationally renowned journals such as Angewandte Chemie, Accounts of Chemical Research, acs Nano, and co-chairman of the editorial board of ChemPlusChem.

He has published more than 500 papers, cited nearly 50,000 times, with an H factor >110, and has been selected as a “global highly cited scientist” for the past seven consecutive years.

According to public information, Tu Yongqiang, male, Han ethnicity, born in 1958, Zunyi, Guizhou. He received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Lanzhou University in 1982, 1985 and 1989, respectively, and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Queensland, Australia from 1993 to 1995. In 2009, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He is currently the chairman of the Gansu Chemical Society and a famous journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Commun. Associate Editor. He has presided over a number of scientific research projects such as the “973” project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the major, key and international cooperation projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the “Medicinal Chemistry” innovation and wisdom introduction jointly funded by the State and the Ministry of Education.

Systematic and innovative research has been carried out in the fields of total synthesis, synthetic methodology (reaction), structure and biological activity research with biologically active natural products. In the internationally renowned academic journal Chem. Rev., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc. et al. have published more than 200 papers.

The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was formally established in 1997, formerly known as the Department of Chemistry of Jiaotong University established in 1928. The college now has three departments: the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering, as well as a public instrument and equipment platform (scientific research) and a basic chemical experiment center.

The college has two first-level disciplines of chemistry and chemical engineering and technology postdoctoral mobile station, chemistry and chemical engineering and technology two first-level discipline doctoral programs, chemistry, chemical engineering and technology two first-level discipline master’s program, chemical engineering and technology master’s program, chemical engineering field engineering master’s program.
