CDC establishes a new Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analysis

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)announceEstablished the Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analysis (CFA). The CFA’s work will focus on three pillars: forecasting, information, and innovation, aimed at leveraging infectious disease data, strengthening modelling and analysis capabilities, supporting the federal, state, and local levels, making timely and effective decisions, and improving national capacity to respond to health emergencies.

The CFA has begun to build a world-class outbreak analysis team of multidisciplinary experts to find faster, richer evidence to predict outbreak trends and guide decision-making in emergency situations.
