Chengdu University of Technology’s first major scientific research instrument development project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China was approved


Recently, according to the notice of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Professor Liu Qingyou, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chengdu University of Technology and Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Development Engineering, was approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Project “Development of Downhole Robot Intelligent Drilling and Completion Simulation Experimental System”, approval number: 52327803, with a direct cost of 8.83 million yuan. It is reported that this project is the first major scientific research instrument development project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China approved by Chengdu University of Technology, and it is a major new breakthrough made by Professor Liu Qingyou in intelligent drilling and completion since he was approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China Joint Fund Key Project in 2019 “Basic Research on Safe and Efficient Drilling of Deep Shale Gas in Sichuan Basin” (approval number: U19A2097).
The project plans to develop equipment such as “coiled tubing machine + downhole robot + intelligent drill bit + large-scale rock sample loading system”, and develop a downhole robot drilling multi-lateral well + explosive fracturing completion simulation experimental system for complex structure wells, which can simulate deep unconventional oil and gas “4000m, 150°C, 70MPa, Φ139.7~238.0mm variable wellbore” multi-factor, multi-working conditions and other intelligent drilling and completion functions, so as to solve the “dynamic characteristics of multi-lateral well drilling and completion system”, ” The two major scientific problems of “high-temperature and high-pressure large-size sealing and explosion safety control mechanism” and the two major technical problems of “downhole real-time transmission and control” and “key equipment development” have achieved a breakthrough in China’s intelligent drilling and completion experimental system from “0” to “1”. The system is mainly composed of the following five modules: (1) coiled tubing and data transmission system; (2) high-temperature and high-pressure simulated branch wellbore; (3) explosive fracturing module; (4) Smart drill bits, downhole robots and other keys; (5) Auxiliary module.
