Recently, the People’s Government of Fujian Province issued a notice that, after research, it was decided to appoint Zhou Shungui as the vice president of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (probation period of one year).
Zhou Shungui, male, born in November 1975, is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University of the Communist Party of China, a doctor, professor and doctoral supervisor of agronomy. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars, a leading talent in innovation of the National 10,000 Thousand Plan, a leading talent in science and technology innovation for young and middle-aged people of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and enjoys the special government allowance of the State Council. He is also the chairman of Fujian Soil and Fertilizer Society, the chairman of Guangdong Sludge Industry Association, the deputy editor-in-chief of the Journal of Ecology and Environment, the editorial board of China Science (Technical Science), and the editorial board of the Journal of Soil Science.
He has long been engaged in basic theory and application research on organic solid waste resource utilization and soil microbial electrochemistry. He has presided over more than 30 important scientific research projects such as 9 National Natural Science Foundation of China (including Jieqing, Youqing, Major Research Program, Joint Fund Key, General and Youth Project), National 863, National Science and Technology Support Program, National Key R&D Program and so on. He has published more than 150 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author, cited more than 10,000 times for SCI papers, and has a personal H-index of 64, and has been selected into the list of “China’s Highly Cited Scholars” since 2020. He has been authorized more than 50 national invention patents and 2 US invention patents. He has won the China Youth Science and Technology Award, Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award (Youth Award), the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked fifth), the first prize of China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievement Award (first completer), the first prize of Fujian Natural Science (first completer), the first prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award (first completer), Dabei Nong Science and Technology Award, Fujian Yunsheng Youth Science and Technology Award, Fujian Zijin Science and Technology Innovation Award, etc.
