Li Kenli is the vice president of Hunan University

Recently, the information update of the “current leadership” column on the official website of Hunan University shows that Li Kenli has been appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Hunan University. Previously, Xu Guozheng, who served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Hunan University, has served as deputy secretary of the party committee and secretary of the discipline inspection committee of South China University of Technology.

According to the official website of Hunan University, Li Kenli, male, Han ethnicity, born in October 1971, joined the Party in June 1995, a native of Lianyuan City, Hunan Province, graduate degree, doctorate, joined the work in September 1993. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Hunan University, vice president, professor and doctoral supervisor. CCF Fellow, IEEE Senior Member, Baosteel Outstanding Teacher, Elsevier China Highly Cited Scholar, enjoys special government allowances from the State Council. He is also the vice chairman of the National Supercomputing Innovation Alliance, a member of the Expert Committee of the National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, an expert of the overall expert group of the National Key Research and Development Program “High Performance Computing”, the vice chairman of the Hunan Computer Society, the chairman of CCF Changsha, the deputy editor of IEEE-TC/TSUSC/TII, the editorial board of Computer Research and Development and other academic positions.

In November 2003, he graduated from the School of Computer Science of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (National High Performance Computing Center (Wuhan)) with a doctorate degree in computer software and theory. He began working in the School of Computer and Communications of Hunan University in November 2003, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois/National Supercomputing Center Application Center in 2004, and was promoted to professor in June 2007. In August 2010, he served as the deputy director of the Construction Office of Hunan University of the National Supercomputing Changsha Center, the deputy dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering in July 2014, the dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering and the director of the Changsha National Supercomputing Center in May 2017, the assistant to the president of Hunan University in October 2020, and the standing committee member and vice president of the party committee of Hunan University since September 2022.

Li Kenli has long been engaged in the research and teaching of high-performance computing and intelligent computing software and applications, and has undertaken 13 national and provincial and ministerial projects such as the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund and the National Key Research and Development Program, and won 1 second prize of national scientific and technological progress (ranked 1), 1 Chinese patent gold award (ranked 1), and 4 provincial and ministerial science and technology first prizes (both ranked 1). He has published more than 260 papers in authoritative academic journals and conferences at home and abroad, including 127 papers recommended by CCF in class A conferences/journals and IEEE/ACM journals, and has been authorized 87 national invention patents and software copyrights.

According to official sources, Hunan University is located in Changsha, Hunan Province, which originated from Yuelu Academy, founded in 976 AD, and is the longest-running institution of higher learning in China. In 1903, it was reorganized into Hunan Higher School, officially named Hunan University in 1926, and became one of the 16 national universities in China in 1937. In 2000, Hunan University merged with Hunan University of Finance and Economics to form the new Hunan University.
